Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue work releases chronic patterns of muscular tension using slow strokes, direct pressure or friction directed across the grain of the muscles employing fingers, thumbs or elbows. It is applied with greater pressure to deeper layers of muscle, and with greater specificity then Swedish Massage, which is why it is called Deep Tissue Massage.
In many areas of the body, the muscles are arranged in layers and sometimes the deeper muscles need to be worked on. Deep tissue Massage techniques are designed to do just that.
